DNT TXT N DRV; Remembering Alex Brown
Saturday was an amazing day! My morning was total bliss. I found an amazing mentor to learn from for my photography business. I couldn't contain my excitement as I drove an hour to Frisco (some might say, what a drag. Me, I like to drive) to meet her in person and take some practice shots with my camera.
When I got there Tracy had the cutest props set up for her Valentines mini sessions. Then Tracys' clients started arriving. Beautiful babies and amazing families in tow!
Along with getting some practice in, meeting some amazing new people, having some quiet time with an hour car drive there and back (well quiet for me consists of radio blaring and my "beautiful" singing) and getting a much needed confidence boost behind the camera my morning was too good to be true.
As I'm driving along though I saw a truck pulling a trailer with a crashed vehicle on top. When I got next to it I saw there was a picture of this young girl on the side. Then I started thinking, hmmm why does she look familiar? Then I saw the banner that pieced it together.
Meet Alex Brown. Though we will never know her in person her parents do an amazing job of keeping her story and her alive in spirit. The first time I heard of Alex was while watching Extreme Homemaker edition. They made over her parents home. They drive around from school to school telling their daughters story. Living their heartache over and over to save the lives of others. To educate those who think it's safe to text and drive. In tow they take her truck.
It's funny how in minutes your mood can change. One second I'm jamming to Glee through the speakers the next I'm crying my eyes out and vowing to never txt and drv again. I mean, who would be able to after seeing the truck in person? After seeing the faces of these amazing parents who live their daughters death everytime they tell her story?
Here is the website to the foundation: http://www.rememberalexbrownfoundation.org/
Go sign the pledge. Trust me, whatever it is can wait. Your life, the life of others comes before a dumb text.
Here is their FB page: https://www.facebook.com/RememberAlexBrown
No worries, I was completely paying attention to the road. These were taken by my camera. They aren't very good because I was looking forward.
Comment if you signed the pledge!!
